VTech features a modern line of cordless phones designed for traditional phone use as well as a line of internet phones. VTech cordless phones are available in 5.8 GHz and 2.4 GHz. Multi-handset systems and multiple line systems are available as well.
The VTech 5.8 GHz line offers the best available clarity and security. The 5.8 GHz wavelength is much less trafficked than both the 2.4 GHz and 900 MHz bandwidths. This translates into increased sound quality. VTech was the first company to offer Digital Spread Spectrum technology to the consumer cordless home telephone market. VTech's top of the line model offers expandability to 8 handsets using one phone jack. This model also features animated picture caller ID and a high resolution 65K color display. Download images from a PC to be used with picture caller ID. Recordable musical ring tones allow the user to personalize ring tones by directly recording them from a PC. Many VTech systems come standard with two to three handsets and mobile bases standard.
VTech 2.4 GHz phones are an affordable alternative to 900 MHz phones. These phones are a good choice for someone looking to add a cordless phone in a household already equipped with 900 MHz cordless phones. Multiple handsets can be linked to a single base unit. All phones in this line feature Caller ID and Call Waiting displays. Some models feature polyphonic musical ring tones pre-programmed into the phone.
VTech also offers internet phones. There are models available for Vonage, Skype and Yahoo. These phones allow the user to take advantage of internet phone service while using enjoying the user-friendliness and comfort of a traditional phone. Internet phone packages are plug and play, including all hardware needed to set up the system. The Yahoo cordless phone connects to both PC and traditional phone line so it can be used as either an internet phone or a traditional phone. The Yahoo contact list is displayed on the phone.
